Right this is just a quick update as I’m not going to go into a complete review of all the stuff they had and didn’t have at Salute this year (if you want that, go to Michael Awdry’s excellent blog see below…..)
So what is this then? Well first off it’s a chance to thanks all the people that have made writing this blog such a pleasurable experience, so special mentions go to…
“Jez” Winstanley https://carrioncrowsbuffet.wordpress.com/
Simon Moore http://fantorical.blogspot.co.uk/
& Michael Awdry http://28mmvictorianwarfare.blogspot.co.uk/
It was an absolute pleasure to meet up with you fine chaps, along with all the other chaps and ladies at the 1.00pm Bloggers meet up, I hope you all had a great day and safe journeys home.
Also it’s a chance for me to show off all the goodies I came home from London with yesterday….
The final Tally was..
50x Plastic palm trees from Minibits (Really must do some more scenery with these this year)
2x 36” strips of greenstuff (at £10.00 for the two this was my bargain of the day)
8x Zombies by studio miniatures (that’s me set for Zomtober)
1x Large skip by studio miniatures (I have a plan for this)
1x Dumpster by studio miniatures (and this)
4x Trash cans by studio miniatures (and these)
5x small pre-painted D&D miniatures (these should turn up in various genres and scales)
1 Big pre-painted D&D miniatures Ogre (This will be an ice giant for Frostgrave)
2x Yeti’s by Copplestone Castings (For Frostgrave)
3x 15mm Snow Trolls by Copplestone Castings (these will be little Yeti’s again for Frostgrave)
1x Barbarian Queen by Copplestone Castings (Coz I liked her)
5x Bodyguards in Bikini’s by Copplestone Castings (These might end up as Zombie surviving strippers)
5x Corporate babes by Copplestone Castings (these should have various uses)
5x Babes with guns by Copplestone Castings (as should these)
1x Mad Max freebee by Copplestone Castings
2x Pots of Miniature Paints (Black and light Grey)
1x Bag of Javis hairy flock (As I had virtually none left)
1x last year’s Salute T shirt (It was a fiver, and hey I was there last year!)
1x Free steampunk miniature (In my goodie bag on entry)
2x plastic Maelstrom’s Edge figures (Also in my goodie bag)
1x Fantastic Four comic (Very kind gift from Jez)
Now I must mention that if I go next year (or whenever I really must take my glasses, as not only could I not see have the blooming figures on sale I had no chance with the map of the London underground system! Anyway back to the figures and not a bad little haul, all I have to do is paint it all now…oh god what have I done!
Till next time, cheers Roger.
That’s a rather splendid haul and it was lovely to finally meet you in person. Can’t wait to Zomtober now!
Thanks Michael, strange but you didn’t strike me as a stripper fan when we met!
Only kidding (we’re all secret fans of strippers really….shush).
Cheers Roger.
What a terrific haul Roger, and hopefully we worth your trip down South. I’m especially pleased to see you managed to collect your “Copplestone Castings” pre-order. From where may I ask? Great to see you again, albeit fleetingly this year, and many thanks for the plug 🙂
Ha ha! well it’s a bit embarrassing but I got my stuff from “Wargames Emporium”, Myles and I were walking about and I noticed that they were selling both Northstar and Copplestone castings stuff, so went over an sheepishly asked if they had my pre-order stuff from Nick? luckily they did. Nick never said who would be carrying his pre-orders and I stupidly never asked. Still it got sorted in the end.
You are most welcome for the plug, of course!
Cheers Roger.
Great to meet up with you at the show!
And a great please to meet with you too Ray, and put a face to the name of course! Hope you had a good day all round.
Cheers Roger.
